Just What the Food World Needed: Another Snob

Updated: Sep 18, 2023

Twisted Noodles, Durham, NC. What looks like a normal meal, has little taste. So what's wrong?

The Twisted Noodle was a new restaurant we were trying out in Durham. The staff was super friendly (actually it just looked like to elderly gentlemen running the place). We ordered our food and start with the Vegan Delight appetizer which was breaded fried tofu and squash. It didn't have much taste so we ended up using a lot of the sauce to add flavor to the dish. The tofu seemed to have been fried but no flavor was added, they could at least have added salt to add some flavors to the dish. I would not suggest ordering this unless you like a lot of sweet and sour sauce.

Next we ordered the Pad See Ew. The noodles were excellent, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, but the tofu was so plain. So, this is where my inner snob all started. I chose to become a critic because there just needs to be a snob for tofu. Although the probability of me being the only tofu Snob is 0%, I will still enjoy this job. As we travel I will post the places where I eat and add posts regularly so you need not suffer as I do.

The rating for TwistedNoodle is:

the tofu: 1 or 2 out of 5

I agree with this snobbyness, their noodles were great but they could do better with their tofu :)

Twisted Noodle is actually our favorite! Try the spicy eggplant next time, is so good! Maybe I should be an eggplant snob. 😄. Have fun judging all the tofu!!
