Good Looking, But Can We Trust It?

China Lin, Collinsville, IL

We have visited this place many a times and we have eaten this dish before, sooooo we thought we could review this place with good marks. Without further ado, let's get started.

We tasted the broccoli and is was perfectly cooked. This is some of the best broccoli we've had at Asian restaurants, the broccoli was just the right amount of crunchy and not soggy at all from cooking it too much. The sauce was a bit off for me, it was a bit too salty but if there was a better balance with the tuning of the ingredients it would be perfect, especially paired with the rice. The tofu on the other hand was dry and too chewy, some thought it was over-fried and refused to eat it. I am not sure if it was an off-night for the chefs or what, but it was not good. The sauce did not help the tofu at all, sadly, like it has in other dishes I've tasted. Personally, I thought it was better as leftovers. Just as a reminder we have had this dish before and it was great then, so I am not sure what's wrong but hopefully when we come back it's better, so we are not as disappointed. It is has been our favorite place to eat in Collinsville and it will not change because of this dish.

Whole Dish: 1 because the broccoli saved it

Tofu: 0.5 just bad

Tofu Contributing to the Whole: 0.25
